Missions trip to Pine Lake Christian Camp

Last week (March 27-29) my youth group went on a missions trip to our church camp Pine Lake Christian Camp. We painted bathrooms from pink to beige, chopped TONS of wood (three wood sheds full), made benches for around the fire, and cleared fallen trees and brush from the path and burned it. We had a fire going pretty much all day every day we were there. It got very hot, you could feel it from 10-15 feet a way! We also had lots of fun, not just working, at night we played games watched movies and talked. This trip was a sort of preparation for next years mission trip when we go to Mexico for all of next years spring brake and the weekends surrounding it to build a house. I am very excited.

Snow Camp!!

Last weekend Travis, Dallas and I went to the first annual Snow Camp with our Church, Bow Valley Christian Church. We learned about God, Played wide games in the snow and ate. It was tons of fun! We played snow British bulldog, amoeba with students vs. leaders, 3 way soccer, and a scavenger hunt. For the scavenger hunt in teams we had to find our leader in the woods and then by using clues find our supplies to make a fire, start the fire find hot dogs and buns go back to our site and then find roasting sticks, roast the hot dogs and eat them and the buns, put out our fire and find our youth leader, Lisette, first to win. My team got second. On Sunday morning we headed home a little early because of a coming blizzard. I had a lot of fun, I'm looking toward next years snow camp!!

The Bird

A few weeks ago, a Red Pole bird hit our kitchen window. We took it in from the cold so it would have a better chance to survive. My mom put it in a basket with a cloth over top, to prevent it from flying all over the house once it healed. After a few hours it was fluttering in it's "cage", as if saying "let me go". It happily flew away.

Christmas in our house

We usually start decorating for Christmas on December 1st but lately we have been starting at end of November.
We always have a Christmas tree, until about 3 years ago we bought real trees but now we have an artificial tree. The real trees would always die before Christmas or one year our cat knocked it down in the middle of the night so we had to tie it to the roof but with the artificial trees we don't have to do that.
On my dads side of the family we do a cousin draw to see who we give too, we do that with my family too. We also celebrate Christmas day with one side of the family so every other year we do it with my moms side and then the years in between we do it with my dads side.
